I belong to several online forums and each of them are filled with people asking why is it that they are not making money with their online efforts. The answer is the same, all the way across the board – they are attempting to build a business on a weak foundation. It doesn’t matter how brilliant your idea maybe if you have targeted the wrong keyword phrase you have done nothing but waste your time, and money.
Keyword research is the most important aspect to making money online. It doesn’t matter if you are an affiliate marketer, or your trying to sell your own products and or services, or you simply want to start earning $100 a day with your Adsense earnings. It all starts with being able to define the right keyword phrases.
I thought long and hard on where to start, at first I was just going to show you how to find the right keyword phrases for your current site then I thought (hmmm) why not start at the beginning. By showing you how to define an online market, but before I can do that I will need to explain what an online market is. Even if you think you already know, I suggest you keep reading.
Online Market
An online market can best be defined as a group of individuals who share a common interest. This can be sports, fishing, camping, online gaming etc… If you are new to Internet Marketing I suggest that you start off with something that you are interested in. Although that may sound like an obvious choice, I am amazed at how many people dive in a market trying to make a quick buck just to bail on it after a few weeks. The reason I suggest that you stick to what you know is because chances are you know the lingo and you could easily talk about it or understand what others with the same interest are saying.
Lets take the “fishing” market for example, the term fishing is way to broad for most people to target, and would prove to be a waste of time. If you were to narrow it down to “bass fishing” that alone would make a huge difference, but it is not enough for you to rake in the big bucks. You must dig even deeper into the market if you want to strike gold. If you were to get more specific such as “striped bass fishing lures” you would hit pay dirt. That is what is known as a micro niche market and it is where the money is.
The strategies that I am sharing with you is not by any means the only way to approach keyword research, however it is effective and the method that I use to rake in several thousand dollars every month like clockwork. If you are currently making no money or you are working for someone else I highly advise that you follow my blueprint before trying to change it or deviate from what I teach. Once you have build up a little nest egg you are free to go crazy.
Allow me to be clear on defining the right market. Take the “Fishing” market for example, this is considered a Massive Market because it is so large and it is a waste of time, because of the amount of competition it has. This is where a large number of individuals who wish to make money online go wrong. They inadvertently target a Massive Market and never gain any momentum.
Those that are persistent will continue via trial and error and eventually figure out where they went wrong, and begin to drill down a little deeper finding a niche market. An example of a niche market would be “Bass Fishing,” although this is a better market and has less competition it simply will not do any good. You may make a little money, here and there, but you will not be able to quit your day job.
After a while and usually several hundred dollars wasted on courses, and ebooks, the true Internet entrepreneur will have another epiphany, and realize that they need to dig even deeper. This is what’s known as a micro niche. A good micro niche keyword phrase would be, “striped bass fishing lures.” This is a good market, and it is a profitable market. I generate approximately $200 to $300 a month from this market on a monthly basis. That may not sound like a lot of money, but once you multiply that by 200 other niche sites – LIFE IS GOOD. I don’t want you to think that I make that much from every niche, some I make a little more and others I make a little less. The point is… Defining the right keyword research works, and it is the only way to make money online.
