First I would like to apologize to all of my readers for taking so long to write Part 2. Ok enough about that I let my excitement get the best of me It happens, what can I say. The real reason you are reading this is to find out a little more about keyword research. In part one I made it clear that you should break down your keyword research from finding a market, to a niche market to a micro niche market. I am going to do something that most Internet Marketers are afraid to do. I am going to reveal a market to you, that generates around $100 a day, and it is all because I was able to find a micro niche market that converted well. You may be asking why would I reveal such a secret? The answer is simple, I have a little over 200 niche markets that follow the exact same format for my VRE business and each of them are profitable. My Secret Micro Niche Cash Machine

The micro niche market that I am referring to is in the bass fishing market and it is a Google Adsense site (VRE – Virtual Real Estate). When I launched this site there was no guess work as far as if it would work or not, I was 100% sure that it would be profitable. How did I know this site would make money? Because of the keyword research – numbers do not lie. 1+1 = 2 that is a fact! No one in their right mind will argue that point.  The same goes with keyword research. I will show you how I derived at the micro niche bass fishing techniques. Keep in mind I do not know anything whatsoever about fishing, in fact I do not even like fish!

Step 1 – How I Found The Market

I was sitting outside at a restaurant called Timbuktu’s down at the ocean front enjoying a little lunch and taking in the beautiful scenery. There were two guys sitting behind me talking about bass fishing. Not that I was listening, but they had a few beers and they were a little loud. The one guy was telling his friend that he had caught a bass “THIS BIG” over the weekend. I opened a browser on my iPad and began searching for bass fishing, using Google’s Wonder Wheel. On a little side note sometimes Google’s Wonder Wheel will not show up when using the iPad or Safari browser. I am not sure to the cause of this, just thought I would put it out there.

Anyway after about 15 minutes or so I emailed myself a list of keyword phrases that I was interested in. Later that evening I drilled a little deeper and put together a list of approximately 25 fishing related keyword phrases that I knew would make money.

Here is the catch! In most cases the keyword phrases that make money are extremely competitive and rather difficult for you to get ranked for. However you can easily get ranked for keyword phrases with little to know value as far as Adsense is concerned. Once you have one of your lower ranked keyword phrase pages indexed in at least the top three in Google, place a link on it to one of your money pages. This will aid in driving traffic to the money page as well as help that particular page to rank higher in the search engines.

Step 2 – Getting Traffic

The same keyword phrases that I use to create content for my site I will also use to build backlinks using such methods as targeted directory submissions, article marketing, and social network marketing. I then do my on page optimization to give me that little extra competitive edge in getting top rankings in the major search engines. It normally takes about a month to start generating 300 or so unique visitors a day using the strategies mentioned.

Since I have clients that pay me big bucks for consulting I will farm out the work on my personal sites depending on my work load. I submit my entire list of keywords and have articles written for them. I also have others do the link building etc.

Step 3 – Make Money

Once my traffic is stable it is time to add the finial ingredient. THE MONEY! I choose the hot areas on the page where I want to display ads and I a snipped of code to it. The code I am referring to is generated from a free script called OpenX. For those of you that may not be familiar with this script It is an ad management script.

Once everything is in place I turn on the ads and presto, my entire site is populated with Adsense ads. I will then add other ad types such as CPA offers, and affiliate offers. I will leave the site alone for about a month or two depending on how lazy I am at the time. I will then remove the ads that are not making me money and replace them with new ones. I continue the process until I have maximized my sites profits. Then I leave it alone and let the money roll in month after month on autopilot.

MAYBE once or twice a year I may have to re-optimize a few of my pages or build more backlinks depending on the market.

I Went Overboard Again

I know this article was supposed to be about keyword research and I went way beyond that. However it all ties together and I hope you can see the importance of taking your keyword research seriously.

Bonus Info.

Once you have mastered the craft of doing keyword research you can also earn a little extra income by charging clients to do their keyword research. My fee for providing such services are $500, and that is depends on which market they are in. The price could go all the way up to $2,000. I have never once had a single client complain or haggle over my rate.

I am not telling you how much I charge my clients in an effort to impress you, however my goal is to impress upon you the importance of keyword research when it comes to building any online business.
